1. Nurturing Attitude: Unselfish caring, supportiveness, and a willingness to share. 2. Responsibility: Show and encourage a personal commitment to each task. 3. Dependability: Being there for others through all the time of their lives. 4. Friendship: The habit that binds people together when we take pleasure in each other’s company, listen, laugh, and share good times and bad. 5. Brotherhood: The habit that reaches beyond comfortable relationships to extend a welcome to those who may be different from ourselves. 6. High Expectations: This involves believing that others can be successful, telling them so, and praising their accomplishments. 7. Courage: Standing up and doing the right thing, speaking out on behalf of others, and making a commitment to excellence even when others are not supporting you. 8. Hope: Believe in tomorrow—go beyond what we see because we have learned to see with our hearts
As for our part, we believe our job is to teach until a child learns, rather than punish until they learn. We want your child to enjoy the learning process, and we want to help them develop their own motivation for learning. We hope to do our best to encourage your child to succeed in his/her attempts to learn.

Fifth grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisition of new skills are accelerated. During this year, your child will give book talks, make inferences in reading, write more elaborate stories, multiply and divide fractions, do map skills, learn about historical events, and so much more. During this time it is important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate. Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority.
